My partner and I are both design graduates from NIFT, Mumbai and ever since have been working in the handloom industry. For a long while we wanted to contribute in creating awareness about handlooms and the Indian handicraft industry especially amongst the next generations, to let kids connect with the ancient culture and traditions. With the pandemic, as experiences are being valued more than the product, we would like to introduce an activity that indulges every generation at home and learn.Thus, Kalakai was born out of our pure love and longing to introduce ancient crafts to the modern world. An experience of fun and mindfulness with your DIY kit. Our weaving kit lets one create a wall art as per their own aesthetics!
