A product of the rich and varied ethno-cultural weaving traditions of Assam in North East India. Eri is an integral part of the Assamese culture is also known as “Ahimsa” silk because it is a vegan silk, i.e., the silk worms are not killed in the process of the preparation of the yarn. Two sets of yarn are used. The deep and light red color is obtained from the roots of Indian Madder (Rubia cordifolia ) and the grey dye is obtained from the seeds of Phutukin. The fermented seeds are boiled at 50 degrees and the yarn is then dyed. They beautifully intricate together to provide this blend. Adds elegance and class to your outfit.
