The Craftsmen of Odisha are known since 700 years for their skill in filigree or locally called Tarkashi Even today a large share of Tarkashi invokes classic iconography used extensively in drawing found in temples Over the years the industrial revolution has forced craftsmen to produce and design goods which can be seen as trade-off between providing value addition to reducing cost to become competitive. We at Nina’s Tarkashi believe that design is a discipline like engineering, marketing or accounting Beyond the marketing and manufacturing machine at the core of company is Rupali Gupta a designer who study and practise the craft for creating something functional beautiful.
