Tholu Bommalata otherwise known as leather puppet dance / leather puppetry is an ancient traditional artform from Andra Pradesh. This artform is diligently crafted by highly skilled artisans who have mastered the art over a long period.
These lamps are made on leather that is stretched over metal frames. The painting is hand drawn with natural inks and dyes. The leather is also perforated along the painting which when lit creates a beautiful effect on the wall.
