* This lamp is made out of Leaves of Rambass plant, found in Uttrakhand is crushed between rollers and then mechanically scraped to derive the fibre. Sisal fibre is then washed, dried and double brushed.
* The women, practicing sisal craft in Dehradun, Uttarakhand not just uplift this natural craft but also nurture fearlessness, discipline, courage, motivation and skill of several brave soldiers of the country being their wives, mothers, daughters and daughter-in-laws.
* Design by Maulshree (DBM) is consistently supporting Sisal artisans by strengthening and streamlining their existing handicrafts skills through regular design development workshops.
* The artisans are introduced to new designs and trained in effective developmental techniques (Sisal-Bamboo, Sisal-Jute hybrids) to produce handicrafts for contemporary markets with large buying capacity.
